Learn How to Tell When Your Water Heater Needs an Upgrade

Your water heater is one of the hardest-working appliances in your home. After all, it’s responsible for providing you with the hot water you use to cook, clean, and bathe on a daily basis. But despite the outstanding job your water heater does, it can’t last forever.

Avoid suffering through a suddenly ice-cold shower by learning to spot the warning signs that your water heater is beyond repair. When you notice the symptoms of an oncoming failure, contact our water heater professionals to replace your old, failing water heater with a brand-new, efficient model.

Spot the Signs of Catastrophic Failure

Through its years of service, your water heater has likely accumulated a good deal of wear and tear. These small damages eventually lead to big problems that not even our licensed plumbing specialists can fix.

But when most of these mall damages occur inside your unit, where you can’t see them, how do you know when you’re about to have a big problem on your hands? We asked our water heater experts, and they gave us a list of warning signs and external issues to watch out for.

Signs Your Water Heater is Beyond Repair Include:

  • Hot water comes out rusty
  • You’re frequently running out of hot water
  • Strange noises coming from your water heater
  • Puddles forming around your water heater
  • Strange smells are coming from your pipes
  • Your water heater needs to be repaired constantly

Always Replace Your Water Heater After 10 Years

The best way to determine if your water heater is still up to the task is to ask yourself one simple question – how old is it? Water heaters that were installed over 10 years ago are less efficient, need more maintenance to function, and are far more prone to sudden failures. You can check the age of your water heater by looking at the manufacturer’s sticker near the top of your unit. This sticker will have a serial number on it, and the first two numbers will indicate the year your model was produced in.

When your water heater needs replacing, call our water heater replacement team at (763) 401-8233. We’ll get the job done quickly and efficiently, so you start enjoying more reliable hot water in no time!
